The Rumbling Forest
A downloadable game
Musket fire rang out, like a start signal. First, the forest shook and took away our river. Then, the boars started their uprising.
This is the beginning of the end for Barangay Tindigan.
The Rumbling Forest is a disaster adventure for Cairn and Mangayaw. It is inspired by Philippine foklore and forests and Princess Mononoke.
In this adventure:
- Lots of angry boars
- Gossipping village-folk
- Ghost grandparents
- 3 small but interconnected underground caves
- A ticking clock punctuated by earthquakes
- The opportunity to drive conquistadors away!
I'll make a version with Mangayaw stats when I release an update to that game.
Read what folk are saying about The Rumbling Forest!
"The writing is evocative, and alternates between poetic and functional in an appealing way... I especially like how alien the conquistadors architecture is made to feel." - Nova (Idle Cartulary)
"The setting with the standoff between the conquistadors and the Tawo is rich with possibilities for interesting roleplay... I personally find a setting like this immensely compelling as a vehicle for exploring the incredibly problematic history of these interactions, which are still shaping life in places like this to the present day." - Luke Simmonds (Cats Have No Lord)

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in providing community copies of your game. I’m a disabled pension who can’t afford much so these free gifts really help me out in playing games and keeping my mind active. I won’t be broke forever so plan on coming back when I’m able to help out.
I really appreciate your hard work and kindness in providing community copies.
I'm a college student from the Philippines so I also grab community copies of games a lot! I really like the idea of community copies, and I consider having community copies of my games kinda like paying it forward.
This adventure is so, so good. The setting is rife with tension and well fleshed out to lead to tough but impactful decisions from players. The forest, dungeons, and wild threats present a coherent and fascinating ecology. There's a ticking clock leading things ever closer to a disaster the longer players explore. There's just so much to love here that it's hard to put into words.
