The Dream Weaver (a character background for Mangayaw)

DREAM WEAVER
The textiles you weave are imbued with the patterns, colors, and likenesses you witnessed in the realm of dreams. There is power in these designs, and it takes skilled hands and sound mind to contain them. You take:
- Rations (3 uses)
- Torches (3 uses)
- Rod from a broken loom (d6 damage)
- Spool of thread
- Smelling salts (3 uses)
How do you enter the realm of dreams?
1. Your senses must be dulled, until you feel nothing. Take strong coconut wine (3 uses) in a bamboo container.
2. Your entry is paid for in blood, red and flowing. But whose? Take a bloodied dagger (d6 damage) and an anticoagulant solution (1 use).
3. It’s an uncontrolled phenomenon. You learned to cope with it. Take a thick headwrap (1 Armor) and dried tea leaves (3 uses).
4. You only gain visions after near-death experiences. The thrill and fear is something you now crave. The first time your LAKAS is decreased 0, you are knocked out and deprived instead of dying. Gain 1 current LAKAS afterwards.
5. You must be overwhelmed with ecstasy. You’ve learned how to get what pleases you. Take some betel nut quids (3 uses) and a jar of coconut oil (1 uses).
6. You never actually leave it. Dreams seep into reality like dye on thread. You do not need sleep, but you are vulnerable to mind-altering effects.
What is the first pattern you weaved?
1. Flowering Vines - On a sash as long as your body. When wrapped around something, it won’t let go unless you command it to.
2. Flowing Rivers (3 uses) - On a death blanket. Wrapping it on a recently deceased corpse allows you to communicate with its spirit. To recharge, dust off the blanket over a river and have a meal by the banks.
3. Watching Eyes - On a shawl. When wearing it, it alerts you when you are being perceived.
4. Swirling Vortex (3 uses) - On a tube skirt. With a swish, it pulls nearby folk and objects to you.To recharge, lay it still for a whole day. Any movement forfeits the recharge.
5. Shifting Constellations (1 use) - On a wrap-around skirt. When laid out, it will show you the general direction of anything tangible you ask for. To recharge, you must lose something of personal value.
6. Rolling Hills - On a weaved mat. Anything fully wrapped by the mat will be as if it is weightless.
And then there's 6. I'm taking it easy this March because midterms are incoming, so probably no video this month. But I will be entering a game jam in my tabletop student organization. I might make a post about that.
